We have included some links to Christian sites
that we thought you might find interesting and helpful
to your Christian walk and to your family.
Our goal is that this page would be helpful in answering some questions that many people wonder about and ask. We have tried to be careful in our selection of sites, but you must use your own discernment.
This page is continually updated with new links and new topics. Check back often.
Important note...
By including these site links on our site, Millers Creek Baptist Church is merely trying to encourage you in your faith and provide the answers to some of the things you may wonder about. Their inclusion does not mean we endorse every aspect of the site or ministry. We have tried to make sure the following sites are doctrinely sound and have a good reputation... but this is a very difficult thing to do. We paticularly ask that you be careful with the various links you will find on the websites. They have not all been checked out by our staff. We ask that you use discernment and weigh each site against the Scriptures. Parents, please take the time to browse through these sites before your kids do to see if they match up with what you are trying to teach and instill in the hearts of your children.
Please be aware that on some of these sites you may need to right click on your mouse and select "Back" to return to this page.

| ... government? |
|
A Christian view of government differs significantly from views proposed by many political theorists. The basis for civil government is rooted in our created nature. We are rational and volitional beings. We are not determined by fate, as the Greeks would have said, nor are we determined by our environment as modern behaviorists say. We have the power of choice. Therefore we can exercise delegated power over the created order. Thus a biblical view of human nature requires a governmental system that acknowledges human responsibility.
While the source of civil government is rooted in human responsibility, the need for government derives from the necessity of controlling human sinfulness. God ordained civil government to restrain evil (cf. Gen. 9). Anarchy, for example, is not a viable option because all have sinned (Rom. 3:23) and are in need of external control.

| ... health? |
As we seek to enjoy the blessings of God in our lives, it is necessary that we bring those lives increasingly under His control. In an ultimate sense, of course, everything is absolutely under God's control. In an immediate sense, however, there is much we can do to make our lives conform better to God's holy Word and to improve our relationship with Him. One of the significant areas we should consider is how to take proper care of this body that God has provided so that we are able to perform His will on this earth.

| ... money & finance? |
|
The Bible contains about 500 verses on prayer and a little less than 500 verses on faith, yet over 2,350 verses that address in very practical, specific ways how to earn, save, spend, invest and give money. Two-thirds of the parables deal with money. The Bible has more to say about money than heaven and hell combined, even more to say about money than salvation. The Bible has more to say about money than any other subject except love.
Biblical financial principles applied yesterday, they apply today, and they will apply tomorrow. His principles apply if you have a little or a lot, if you are single or married,
if you are young or young-at-heart.

| ... spiritual gifts? |
|
Carrying out "The Great Commission" requires more than presenting God's Plan Of Salvation. Preparing souls to receive Jesus involves giving care, comfort, encouragement, assurance, counsel and healing.
God has blessed all of us with spiritual gifts such as Prophecy, Helps, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Administration, Mercy, Evangelism, and Shepherding and others. Each Christian has one or more gifts for which we may be better suited.
